What do the colors on the map mean?
 
Every state falls into one of three tiers. In two of the tiers a suppressor is legal for you to purchase and they differ only in how you purchase them. The third Tier means you cannot own nor purchase a suppressor where you live.
 
What state is in what tier:
 
Tier 1 States (Red) Legal to own. You are required to complete a 4473 and a background check with no NFA registration.
AL, AZ, AR, FL, ID, IN, IA, KS, KY, LA, ME, MD, MN, MO, NE, NH, NM, OK, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VT, VA, WV, WY
 
Tier 2 NFA states (Blue) Legal to own, but state law still ties to the full Form 4 process.
CO, CT, GA, MI, MS, MT, NV, NC, ND, OH, OR, PA, WA, WI
 
Tier 3 Prohibited States (Grey) Civilian suppressor ownership is not allowed at all and we WILL NOT SHIP TO THESE STATES.
CA, DE, HI, IL, MA, NJ, NY, RI, and Washington DC
 
As the laws, regulations and processes are currently changing at this time, some dealers in Tier 1 states may still require a form 4 to be done until all new regulations are in place. Please contact your FFL dealer for their process and rules.
